The Honolulu Police Department does not recommend individuals to independently search for Masumi because of the hazards and danger in the mountainous terrain on Oahu. Body recovery efforts have ceased until further credible information comes in.

Finding Masumi Watanabe's body is dependent on an individual coming forward with specific information or someone who can recollect seeing the convicted murderer, his company's truck, or his personal truck in a specific area and time between April 12-15, 2007 on Oahu.
